This work plays with iconography from the ancient western world and the Italian Renaissance. The goddess Persephone is often represented by a pomegranate. This work also includes imagery inspired by the male gaze of the Renaissance masters. The traditional style nudes and hand gestures are juxtaposed with contemporary titles.
